Hoa Lo Prison

Hoa Lo Prison relic is located in the heart of Hanoi. It is built in 1896 by French on the land of Phu Khanh village. The French occupied Hanoi in order to detain Vietnamese patriots who opposed their rule. They built one prison in 1896 in the middle of Hanoi and occupy all area of Phu Khanh Village to built prisons. Therefore, the prison was called by the name of the village 'Hoa Lo'. Hoa Lo prison has the area of 12.908 m2, which is the most ancient architecture of Indochina. The prison is surrounded by stone walls, steels with 4 meters height and reinforced by barbed-wire system of high voltage lines running, through the four corner there have towers are capable of observing the prison. The main gate was built with the two stoney building with the dome-shaped structure. From the prison area to other, it should follow a path that has many iron doors so that the prisoners could hardly escape.

Truc Bach Lake

Truc Bach Lake is a lake of Ba Dinh District, Hanoi, Vietnam, which is a part of West Lake. Previously, it is the west lake. Ye Hoa residents and Yen Quang residents make a small embankment for easier fishing. After that, Trinh Lord made embankment broaden and called 'Co Ngu' embankment. Now, it is Thanh Nien road. The corner of the lake, there has a place for Trinh Doanh Lord, then it became where palace ladies were detained because of crime. They grew mulberry and made silk so that the place was called 'Truc' village and they named 'Truc Bach' Lake. In the Trinh Lord reign, Truc Bach Lake planted lotus, which burst into fragrant one region. Truc Bach Lake is not large; standing here can see the looming shadow at the far edge.

Vietnam Fine Arts Museum

Vietnam Military History Museum

Vietnam Military History Museum is a museum of military history of Vietnam, located at 28A Dien Bien Phu, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi. The museum opened on the occasion of 15th anniversary of establishment of the Vietnam People's army December 22th 1959. Bat Trang Ceramic Village

Around Hanoi, there has many 'traditional trade village'. They are the villages where specialized products are made and these traditional works have been preserved by family generations. The products are handicrafts, traditional paintings, wooden furniture, bronze or silk products, etc. Bat Trang ceramic village is one of them. Bat Trang village lies on the bank of the Hong River, about 13 kilometers from Hanoi. To get there, you cross the Chuong Duong Bridge out of central Hanoi, turn right onto dilapidated, heavily pot-holed road and try to avoid being hit by the trucks, buses and motorcycles that jokey to overtake each other in both directions.

Van Phuc Silk Village

Ha Dong silk village is known as Van Phuc silk village, Van Phuc, Ha Dong, Ha noi. It is far about 10 kilometer from the center of Hanoi. This is the most famous silk village from ancient time; there are many patterns and long-stand of Vietnam. Van Phuc silk is selected under the reign of the Nguyen. According to legend, about 1.200 years ago, Ms. A La Thi Nuong living in Cao Bang is a famous person with skillful weaving of Van Phuc village. She brought the secrets of Chinese weaving silk to teach people who live in the village. When she passed away, she was respected as tutelary deity.

Chuong village is far about 30 kilometers from Hanoi, is located on Ha Dong road-Huong Tich pagoda. Chuong village belongs to Phuong Trung commune, Thanh Oai Distric, Hanoi. According to the seniors, the 'non' craft has had for a long time. Grandfather made 'non', father made 'non', son made 'non', grandchildren made 'non'. All members in family make 'non', the village has only single job is making 'non'. Because all people in the village make 'non', the market has most 'non' and things to make 'non'. Market has meeting in June, the main session on 4th, 10th, 14th, 24th and 30th lunar. Today, despite people are not used these 'non' as often as it once was, the village market is still crowded and busy.

Duong Lam Ancient Village

Duong Lam is a commune of Son Tay town, Hanoi, Vietnam. Duong Lam becomes the first ancient village in Vietnam. Two of Vietnam’s kings, Phung Hung (761-802) and Ngo Quyen (896-944) were born in Duong Lam, giving the village its prestige. Both men led resistance wars against northern invasion and after winning national independence, were crowned kings. After their deaths, the local people built temples in their honor. The ancient village has a history of about 1,200 years with many houses dating back up to 400 years.

Ngu Xa villages are located in the Truc Bach Lake shore west Hanoi, Truc Bach Lake through the West Lake. Around the West lake focus of famous trade village of Thang Long imperial in many centuries - flower textile trade and paper of Yen Thai, cast bronze of Ngu Xa. Ngu Xa means 5 villages (Dong Mai, Chau My, Lang Thuong, DienTien and Dao Nien of Van Lam - Hai Hung district and Thuan Thanh - Bac Ninh) which has a casting bronze crafts. People in the 5 villages pulled up Thang Long and set up the new village, get name Ngu Xa to remember the 5 villages of their origin. They organized into wards own career, called wards cast bronze of Ngu Xa. The Ngu Xa bronze casting is one of the four most prestigious crafts of ancient Thang Long- Hanoi. An old Hanoi saying goes 'Glossy silk from Yen Thai, pottery from Bat Trang, goldsmiths from Dinh Cong and bronze-casting from Ngu Xa'.

Le Mat Village

According to history, The name Le Mat appeared before the time of Le Canh Hung (1740 -1786), but it was just acknowledged as a commune level administrative unit from the beginning of Nguyen dynasty, means that in the early of 20th century. After many times changing place name, boundary, in the late of 1997, Le Mat became one of three hamlets (Le Mat, Truong Lam, Kim Quan), now belongs to Viet Hung commune, Gia Lam district, on the outskirt of Ha Noi city.
